The School of Athens is a fresco by the Italian Renaissance artist Raphael, painted between 1509 and 1511 as part of a commission by Pope Julius II to decorate the rooms now called the Stanze di Raffaello in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City.

Tré recreates this original painting in his unique and captivating style using acrylics on canvas instead of fresco. In the original work, Raphael places himself with the mathematicians in the bottom right corner - beside Ptolemy (holding the globe). He’s the only one in the painting looking at the viewer of the painting. Tré replaces Raphael with himself, personalizing his modernization of the original fresco.
